AfrOrigens – A história da Escravidão, de Naufrágios a Quilombos.

Durante os 350 anos de Diáspora Africana, cerca de 15 milhões de escravizados foram levados
através do Oceano Atlântico em 40 mil viagens, a bordo de 12 mil navios escravagistas.
Os naufrágios destes navios são as provas contundentes
do maior crime contra a humanidade. Porém apenas 6 foram localizados e estudados no mundo.

O filme AfrOrigens irá
documentar a busca
e possível descoberta de ao menos seis naufrágios escravagistas ao longo do litoral brasileiro, trazendo à tona as provas materiais do crime da escravidão.

SINOPSE
Este é um documentário investigativo sobre um tema relevante de enorme apelo popular e reconhecida importância social.
Num dos formatos de documentário mais populares atualmente, o de Investigação Criminal, os detetives pesquisadores do Instituto AfrOrigens, arqueólogos subaquáticos, historiadores, cineastas e quilombolas, buscarão provas materiais do maior crime contra a humanidade: o tráfico de 15 milhões de africanos escravizados, em 350 anos de tráfico.

Este filme de mergulho científico, aventura e justiça racial investigará ao menos 6 naufrágios escravagistas no Brasil, nos estados da Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, Paraná, e Rio Grande do Sul, com edição em ritmo de ação da investigação criminal e científica.
Estas pesquisas dos naufrágios escravagistas são conectadas a uma comunidade quilombola da região, que anseia descobrir sobre suas origens históricas, que começaram com a chegada destes navios da morte. Estes quilombos se beneficiam diretamente das descobertas.

Através das pesquisas e das expedições arqueológicas, o filme é repleto de ação e suspense, com personagens fortes e carismáticos, contando histórias dramáticas que afetam diretamente mais da metade da população brasileira, e historicamente a todos nós, pois a escravidão pode ter sido o verdadeiro primeiro negócio globalizado.

O GRANDE LEGADO HISTÓRICO E SOCIAL DO PROJETO

O grande legado do projeto são as possíveis descobertas dos naufrágios dos navios escravagistas buscados. Além de colocar o Brasil na vanguarda destas pesquisas históricas, pois no mundo somente 6 naufrágios semelhantes foram investigados até agora, as comunidades quilombolas da região participarão da produção aprendendo sobre produção audiovisual, história e arqueologia, e mergulho submarino, o que irá empoderá-los a contarem sua própria história e tomar posse de seu patrimônio cultural e histórico revelado pela produção, pois o naufrágio escravagista passará a ser um sítio arqueológico da união que poderá ser usado pela comunidade para atividades de turismo cultural.

During the 350 years of the African Diaspora, around 15 million enslaved people were taken across the Atlantic Ocean on 40 thousand trips, aboard 12 thousand slave ships.
The shipwrecks of these ships are overwhelming evidence
of the greatest crime against humanity. However, only 6 have been located and studied in the world.

The film AfrOrigens will
document the search
and possible discovery of at least six slave shipwrecks along the Brazilian coast, bringing to light the material evidence of the crime of slavery.

SYNOPSIS
This is an investigative documentary on a relevant topic of enormous popular appeal and recognized social importance.
In one of the most popular documentary formats today, of Criminal Investigation, research detectives from the AfrOrigens Institute, underwater archaeologists, historians, filmmakers, and members of afro-descendants communities, will seek material evidence of the greatest crime against humanity: the trafficking of 15 million enslaved Africans, in 350 years of trafficking.

This scientific diving, adventure, and racial justice film will investigate at least 6 slave shipwrecks in Brazil, in the states of Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, Paraná, and Rio Grande do Sul, with action-paced editing of the criminal and scientific investigation.
This research into slave shipwrecks is connected to an afro-descendant community in the region, which longs to discover its historical origins, which began with the arrival of these ships of death. These quilombos benefit directly from the discoveries.

Through research and archaeological expeditions, the film is full of action and suspense, with strong and charismatic characters, telling dramatic stories that directly affect more than half of the Brazilian population, and historically, all of us, as slavery might have been the first truly globalized business.

THE PROJECT’S GREAT HISTORICAL AND SOCIAL LEGACY

The project’s greatest legacy is the possible discoveries of the wrecks of the slave ships sought. In addition to placing Brazil at the forefront of this historical research, as in the world only 6 similar shipwrecks have been investigated so far, afro-descendants communities in the region will participate in the production by learning about audiovisual production, history and archeology, and underwater diving, which will empower them to tell their own story and take possession of their cultural and historical heritage revealed by the production, as the slave shipwreck will become an archaeological site of the union that can be used by the community for cultural tourism activities.
