FATU – BRAZILIAN ADVENTURE, TOURISM, AND SUSTAINABILITY FILM FESTIVAL
O Primeiro com temas Aventura, Turismo e Sustentabilidade, desde 2004.
O FATU é o primeiro e único festival de filmes brasileiro especializado nos temas Aventura, Turismo e Sustentabilidade, que atinge público de todas as classes sociais. Público nacional que viaja e consome produtos de moda, conforto e tecnologia.
O festival nasceu em 2004 no prédio da Bienal do Ibirapuera, e em 2007 migrou para a Cidade de Socorro, SP, importante pólo de esportes de Aventura a 100km da capital.
Em 2011 o FATU aconteceu também em Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul.
Com visibilidade internacional, de 2006 a 2008 o FATU participou como Mostra Internacional convidada em diversas cidades do Japão e segue participando de projetos semelhantes.
Em 2013, em busca de expansão internacional, o FATU migrou para Paraty, no Rio de Janeiro, cidade que sempre teve uma relação íntima com o cinema, e com os esportes de aventura e o ecoturismo.
Assim o festival se instala definitivamente entre as montanhas e mar.
Como parte das atividades do Festival acontece uma oficina de vídeo digital, onde pessoas aprendem gratuitamente a fazer filmes digitais, com aulas práticas e teóricas. Cada equipe participante finaliza um filme para apresentar no último dia do festival. Estes filmes são assistidos pelo público do festival e os jurados premiam o melhor filme. Além disto, alunos de escolas de todo Brasil participam com produções na categoria Juvenil Escola.
O FATU premia 12 categorias.
AÇÕES LOCAIS: este é um dos únicos, senão o único, festival brasileiro no qual a comunidade é treinada, produz filmes, e participa da mostra competitiva, na categoria juvenil-escolas. Para isto as escolas da cidade são convidadas e participam gratuitamente.
AÇÕES NACIONAIS: Ponto de Encontro da Produção Audiovisual Brasileira destes Temas, Aventura, Turismo e Sustentabilidade. Desde a primeira edição o FATU convida os diretores, produtores, atores e personagens dos filmes a participarem de debates, oficinas e eventos paralelos a exibição de seus filmes, proporcionando um ambiente para troca de informações, técnicas, e intercâmbio profissional. Pessoas do público, com profissionais de diversas áreas, estudantes e interessados nos temas do FATU também participam destas atividades gratuitamente.
AÇÕES INTERNACIONAIS: A cada edição um país é convidado para participar, exibindo seus filmes dos temas do festival, e assim polinizando boas ideias e abrindo caminho para co-produções internacionais.
The First with Adventure, Tourism, and Sustainability themes, since 2004.
FATU is the first and only Brazilian film festival specialized in the themes of Adventure, Tourism, and Sustainability, reaching audiences of all social classes. A national public that travels and consumes fashion, comfort, and technology products.
The festival was born in 2004 in the building of the Bienal do Ibirapuera, and in 2007 it migrated to the City of Socorro, SP, an important adventure sports center 100km from the capital.
In 2011 the FATU also took place in Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul.
With international visibility, from 2006 to 2008 FATU participated as an International Exhibition invited in several cities in Japan and continues to participate in similar projects.
In 2013, in search of international expansion, FATU migrated to Paraty, in Rio de Janeiro, a city that has always had an intimate relationship with cinema, adventure sports, and ecotourism.
Thus, the festival settles definitively between the mountains and the sea.
As part of the Festival’s activities, a digital video workshop takes place, where people learn for free how to make digital films, with practical and theoretical classes. Each participating team finalizes a film to present on the last day of the festival. These films are watched by the festival public and the judges award the best film. In addition, students from schools throughout Brazil participate in productions in the Youth School category.
The FATU awards 12 categories.
LOCAL ACTIONS: this is one of the only, if not the only, Brazilian festival in which the community is trained, produces films, and participates in the competitive show, in the youth-schools category. For this, the city’s schools are invited and participate free of charge.
NATIONAL ACTIONS: A meeting point for Brazilian Audiovisual Production on these themes, Adventure, Tourism, and Sustainability. Since the first edition, FATU has invited directors, producers, actors, and characters of the films to participate in debates, workshops, and events parallel to the exhibition of their films, providing an environment for the exchange of information, techniques, and professional exchange. People from the public, professionals from different areas, students, and those interested in FATU themes also participate in these activities free of charge.
INTERNATIONAL ACTIONS: In each edition a country is invited to participate, showing their films on the themes of the festival, thus pollinating good ideas and paving the way for international co-productions.
