For the first time, a special documentary film will show the amazing Race that led to the invention of the Airplane, and how Brazil, France, and China were essential for the diffusion of Aviation to the world.
Este filme IMAX será distribuído para mais de 200 Cinemas de Tela Gigante em Museus e Instituições de 40 países, muitas em Museus Aéreos e Espaciais.
A maioria das pessoas acredita que os irmãos Wright americanos foram os primeiros a pilotar uma máquina mais pesada que o ar, em 17 de dezembro de 1903.
No entanto, a história por trás desse primeiro voo e depois disso é muito mais fascinante e envolve outros três países: França, China e Brasil.
Esses três países tiveram participação ativa e generosa no desenvolvimento e popularização da aviação para toda a humanidade.
A Icarus Race dirá como os chineses, desde muito cedo, foram os primeiros a desenvolver o conceito de voo, e como o brasileiro Santos-Dumont provou que o vôo humano era possível quando ele inventou o dirigível. Mais tarde, ele mudou para máquinas mais pesadas que o ar e construiu o melhor avião daquela época, o Demoiselle 19, que ele deu ao mundo de graça, permitindo o início da aviação.
O filme mostrará como o visionário Clément-Bayard se tornou a primeira empresa na história do mundo a produzir o avião comercialmente, a partir do Paris Aéro Salon, em outubro de 1909. Outra empresa francesa também fará parte deste filme, como dizemos ao A história de como Louis Cartier inventou o relógio de pulso, a pedido de seu amigo Santos Dumont, que precisava verificar as horas, mantendo as duas mãos livres para pilotar suas aeronaves.
This IMAX movie will be distributed to over 200 Giant Screen Theaters in museums and institutions of 40 countries, and many are Air and Space Museums.
Most people believe that the American Wright brothers were the first ones to fly a machine heavier than air, on December 17th, 1903.
However, the story behind that first flight, and after that is much more fascinating and involves other 3 countries: France, China, and Brazil.
These 3 countries had active and generous participation in the development and popularization of Aviation for all mankind.
Icarus Race will tell how the Chinese from very early was the first to develop the concept of flight, and how the Brazilian Santos-Dumont proved that human flight was possible when he invented the dirigible. Later he switched to heavier than air machines and built the best airplane of that age, the Demoiselle 19, that he gave to the world for free, enabling the beginning of Aviation.
The movie will show how the visionary Clément-Bayard became the first company in the history of the world to produce the airplane commercially, from the Paris Aéro Salon in October 1909. Another French company will also be part of this movie, as we tell the story of how Louis Cartier invented the wristwatch upon request from his friend Santos Dumont, that needed to check the time while keeping both hands free to pilot his aircraft.

Santos-Dumont fez o primeiro voo dirigível de sucesso em 1898, decolando de um jardim botânico a oeste de Paris e subindo para 400 metros. Em 19 de outubro de 1901, ele ganhou o prêmio French Aero Club voando ao redor da Tour Eiffel e doou os 100 mil francos para instituições de caridade parisienses.
Ahead of all of them, the Brazilian Santos Dumont was the first to prove that controlled flight was possible, as he invented the dirigible moved by a combustion engine.
